Michelle J. Pinkard is an honors graduate of Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas, where she studied Mass Communication and English. She recieved her Masters degree from Morgan State University, in Baltimore, Md. There, she studied English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Her first collection of poetry, The Eye of the Tornado: Fifty Poems for Rhyme and Reason, was recently published by La Caille Nous Publishing Co., Inc. (www.lcnpub.com).
She lives and teaches composition and literature in Tempe, AZ. Pinkard is currently working on her second volume of poetry and a memoir project. She is also pursuing a PhD in African American Literature.
